Ministries

MISSIONS TEAM of the Bridge is a group of people charged with the task of encouraging, facilitating, and overseeing the various missions projects supported by The Bridge congregation. Each team member endeavors to be a direct link in one or more of our mission outreaches locally, regionally and internationally. The goal of the team is to expand and work with small groups and individuals within the church body to further the Great Commission by enlisting people for short term missions and direct involvement in ongoing missional ministries, with an ultimate goal of everyone in the body being ‘missions minded’ at some level, and encouraging our own home-grown missionaries within the Bridge!

CAFÉ A little food. A little fellowship. A little fun. The Bridge's Cafe is open for coffee and hot chocolate Sunday mornings and serves cookies between 1st and 2nd services. They even have a few items for sale when you're in a pinch for an easy breakfast. There are also ideas to have the café open during the weekdays!!!

ALL-STARS is where kids in kindergarten through sixth grade want to be every Sunday! Every child is in a small group with a “coach” who cares about kids. Each week we visit Discovery Field, where we sit on the grass and listen to the awesome Bible storyteller and then rock out with the worship team. There are no tables and no chairs, because we are busy learning God’s Word. Sometimes that means we race across the room, or try to all fit into one hula hoop to prove a point. You never know what’s coming next week in ALL-STARS! 6th grade kids even get their own space (complete with XBOX and Wii) and totally separate lessons tailored for preteens.

SAFARI LAND is where pre-schoolers go to “explore God’s wonder” on Sunday mornings. Infants and Toddlers are cared for by loving volunteers. Two, Three, Four and Five year olds learn God’s word through interactive Bible Stories and Worship. Tour Guides in Safari Land guide the kids through fun-filled activities, crafts, and snacks. Through small groups, kids learn to pray with their Guide. After coming to Safari Land, pre-schoolers will know these three basic truths: God made me, God loves me, God wants to be my friend forever.

FX is a family-centered, kid-focused production that reinforces the faith and values you are teaching your kids at home. The entire family will have a blast as you experience Bible stories and fun mixed up like never before. FX...where kids take their parents to learn.

BIBLE CAMP Camp E.D.G.E. will take the kids to an extreme adventure camp where they will Experience and Discover God Everywhere! Camp EDGE Bible Camp is not your typical stroll through the woods. It's an action-packed, adrenaline-filled expedition that will teach kids their strength and might come from God. Through rockin' contemporary music, larger-than-life recreation games, mind-boggling science activities, extreme sports videos, and cool, challenging crafts, our kids will learn how to live on the EDGE in their faith. We will head to Camp EDGE June 15-19 from 9:00am – 12:30pm.

ALL-STAR PRAISERS are a dedicated group of Bridge Youth who lead the worship ministry for The Kids at The Bridge. Our goal is to enthusiastically lead songs of praise that will raise the roof and lift the rafters. The Praiser team is open to Jr. High Students who are active members of Axis and who have a passion for worship and a willingness to be a positive role model for The Kids at the Bridge.

ADMINISTRATION /TRADES There are always ways in which The Bridge desires and needs to use volunteers at the office for general office duties, on the campus for things like plumbing, painting, etc. and also other needs like graphic design, t-shirt printing, food services and much more! Share your trades, time and talents with us!

COLLEGE/YOUNG ADULT The College & Young Adult Ministry meets Sunday nights from 8:15 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. in the Worship Center. Those between the ages of 18 and 30 are welcome to join us for a time of bible study, worship, prayer and fellowship. You can even come early (7:45ish) and hang out at the Cafe. AXIS focuses on 7th and 8th grade students and their walk with Christ. We have large group meetings on Sunday nights and small group meetings throughout the week. Special activities include monthly cook nights, car rallies, Hume Lake summer and winter camps, service projects and family events. On Sunday mornings you will find many of our AXIS members serving the church family in the children’s programs. Kids that are a part of this growing group are truly loved by the adult leaders.

NEXUS is for high school students. We believe that relationships are the key to developing a deep and lasting commitment for Jesus. For this reason we seek to be a place where teens can be connected with one another as they pursue the common goal of loving God in every part of their life. We meet every Sunday night at The Bridge for worship and teaching and just to hang out. On Wednesday nights students meet in small groups where deeper relationships are formed through discussion, accountability and prayer. There also regular special events, trips, and camps throughout the year.

GIRLFRIENDS/WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY The goal of the Women’s Ministry at The Bridge is to connect with one another and to encourage on another to connect more intimately with God. This happens mainly through studying God’s Word together in various Bible Studies. We also have regular Girlfriend Gatherings that give women with specific interests an opportunity to get to know each other while doing activities that they enjoy. Our desire is that every woman at The Bridge will experience a rich fellowship with friends and with Jesus Christ.

MOPS stands for Mother's of Preschoolers. We are a home for Moms who want to connect with other Moms in the same stage of life: the preschool years. We get to have a hot meal once a month without our children, complete a project, hear a speaker and speak with other grown ups... which is important!

SMALL GROUP COMMUNITY FELLOWSHIPS are a central part of the ministry at The Bridge. Small Groups are a place to grow deeper in your faith and find intimate fellowship with a group of fellow believers. The setting of a small group allows for questions to be asked and answers to be found. Small group is a place to find encouragement and accountability. Being part of a small group ministry also opens up opportunities to serve as our small groups are involved with a number of outreach programs in our community.

M42 is Men for 42 minutes - This is in the works for men to be discipled one morning during the week for 42 minutes.

M24 is Men for 24 hours - We leave Bakersfield for 24 hours and go to Poso Flats (40 minutes from the church) and spend the night at Gibbon's Ranch. We bring a speaker, have recreation, eat great, and enjoy God's creation. Many lives have changed as a result of these trips. We do M24 twice a year.

M6 is Men at 6:00 - 140 guys meet once a month at a private home to have dinner, sing, then hear a story told by one of the 140. It is a great way to bring a friend and meet guys just like you in the comfort of a home.

MENS BIBLE STUDY Wednesday or Thursday mornings from 6-7am at The Bridge office. Coffee, Study and Fellowship.

WORSHIP The worship ministry at the Bridge has been truly blessed over the few years the church has been in existence. It seems that the Lord places leaders in specific positions that they are extremely gifted in and the ministry just thrives. We are always looking for individuals that have a desire to get involved and serve in this capacity. If you are interested in getting involved in worship aspects of the service, we would love to sit down and talk about where you feel the Lord is leading you. It is an exciting ministry and as churches and different ministries grow, the need in this area becomes greater!

SET DESIGN is meant to be a creative and visual extension of the sermon series. Through lighting, texture, design and color, Set Design can help set the mood, create visual memories, and assist in the overall worship experience. Working closely with Pastor Jeff, the lighting crew and worship band, it is a great way to be a part of the creative process at The Bridge.

TECHNICAL TEAM volunteers in both the children's building and worship center, Sunday morning and throughout the week, operating the sound board, lighting console, MediaShout computers, video cameras, and video editing software. They provide the “behind the scenes” service of set up, take down, operation, and maintenance of the audio, video, and lighting equipment used to support Sunday services, Bridge ministries, and special events.

THE GREETING “FRONT LINE” ministry strives to reflect the love of Christ by initiating a personal, warm, and sincere welcome to everyone attending The Bridge Campus. The Front Line Greeters attempt to make each person feel special while worshipping at The Bridge. This is an exciting Ministry that helps each person feel comfortable and experiences God’s presence while on our campus!

INFORMATION TABLE mission has two purposes. Here we have an opportunity to show the visitor that The Bridge has what they need in a church and we are really happy they came to visit us. The table also is the central location for information on mission opportunities, Christian education, church programs, small groups & support materials for attenders to further their walk with God.

PRAYER TEAM focuses on 4 core values: Worship, Surrender and Yielding, Resources and Relationship, and Readiness. We know that God is our lifesaver through Prayer and we commit to praying Sunday Mornings, throughout the week, supporting those we are praying for with things like cards and prayer blankets, and also special prayer events. We are always happy to have new members join our team!
