Practice Love… Put to Death Apathy & Hate

  • Each morning before you leave the house, speak a specific, sincere word of blessing or affirmation over your spouse. Avoid generic praise; instead, offer something seen and named about who they are in Christ.

  • Set aside one intentional time per week – however simple – that is uninterrupted and undistracted. Use part of it to ask: "How can I love you better this week?" Listen without defending.

  • Once a month, ask your spouse one deeper question about their inner life: their fears, dreams, current spiritual struggles, or what brings them joy. Take notes. Pray about what you hear.

  • Learn and memorize your spouse's primary love language (Gary Chapman's The 5 Love Languages). Intentionally act in that language at least once per week – especially when you don't feel like it.
