Below you’ll find all the information you need for your Hume Lake Winter Camp with The Bridge Bible Church.

Important Information about Winter Camp

Middle School Winter Camp is happening at Hume Lake Christian Camp. Our 6th-8th Grade Students are attending February 12th-15th.

Yes! We will be having a Pre-Camp meeting happening on Thursday, February 11th from 6:00pm-8:00pm in Discovery Field which is located in our Kids at the Bridge Building. This is a mandatory meeting for students and counselors attending camp. At this meeting, we will offer complimentary Health Screens and collect any medications, answer questions regarding camp, transportation, activities, cabin assignments and counselors!

Yes! We require that each camper complete a mandatory Health Screen. Without this screening, students will not be allowed to attend camp. The Bridge offers a complimentary screening at the Pre-Camp Meeting, where we will ask a few simple questions to ensure your student shows no sign of illness. Please do not send a child to the Health Screening with a fever, flu-like symptoms, or Covid symptoms; they will not be allowed to attend camp. If your student is ill, give us a call to let us know at 661-587-2010 and speak to Jenna.

We will be loading up the buses and leaving at 12:00pm on Friday, February 12th in the West Parking Lot of The Bridge's campus (this is the parking lot closest to BCHS's football field.)

We will be returning on Monday, February 15th at 3:30pm in that same parking lot that the students were dropped off in.

The cost of Winter Camp during the Early Bird Special is $415. Early Bird will end at midnight on December 18th and the cost will go up to $465. A deposit of $100 is required upon registration to secure a spot. Payments may be made in any increment at any time until paid in full. The final camp balance is due no later than January 13th.

All medications, prescription and over-the-counter, must be turned in during the health screening at the pre-camp rally. Medications must be in original containers and we recommend only turning in the exact amount that is needed for the time your student is at camp. Campers are not allowed to have any medication in their bags or on their person while at camp. The only exceptions are inhalers or EpiPens. All medications must be entered on Hume Lake’s medical release form upon registration. Medications not listed on this will not be allowed at camp. When you come to the health screening on Thursday, February 4th, screeners will take your medication and match it to what was entered on your form. Please bring all medications in a zip lock bag labeled with your camper's first and last name c/o The Bridge Bible Church.

Because Winter Camp is such a short period of time, we don’t recommend sending letters or packages.

If for any reason, you are bringing your camper up late or picking them up early, you will need to notify our Student Ministry Assistant, Jenna Washburn at jenna@thebridgebiblechurch.com as soon as possible. It will severely delay our departure or return if we do not know of these special circumstances in advance.

Pack a Bible, notebook, pen/pencil, flashlight, sleeping bag, pillow, towel, toiletries, warm clothes, water bottle, jacket, hat/beanie, gloves, boots, additional spending money.

Hume provides dinner the day of arrival, all meals each full day, and breakfast the day of departure.

Yes! As campers will be without their cell phones, we will be creating a WhatsApp group chat that parents can join via QR code. This code we be available to scan at the health screening or day of departure. In this chat, we will be updating parents with arrival/departure updates as well as photos from camp. We will also be posting updates and photos on our Axis Instagram page - follow us @axisbakersfield. Please note that there is no cell service for about an hour once we start driving up and down the mountain and we will be unable to post updates during that part of the drive. We will also be posting to our parent connect Facebook page as well. Please join the group by following the link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/904838873247942
